The City of Sedalia has announced that beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, December 14 through 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, the intersection of E. 3rd Street and S. Lafayette Ave. will be closed to through traffic. Traffic will need to find an alternate route to their destination during this period as the City of Sedalia’s contractor continues construction on the community’s water improvements project. Drive approaches into businesses, residences and alleys will remain open.
Additionally, work will begin Monday, December 14 at 7 a.m. and continue until complete along E. 16th Street beginning at S. Engineer Ave. and continuing to S. Ohio Ave. resulting in heavy equipment and construction workers being in and around the area. Periodic lane restrictions and parking prohibitions will be posted as water mains are installed and tested.
Drivers in the area are encouraged to slow down for workers in this area and if possible, choose a different route to their destination. Drive approaches into businesses, residences and alleys will remain open.
These projects are weather and equipment dependent and may be delayed due to inclement weather or equipment breakdowns.
