Several more COVID-19-related deaths were confirmed in Pettis County on Wednesday, December 16.
According to health-department officials, five deaths raise the county’s total to 47 since the beginning of the pandemic. There also were 28 more positive cases reported, increasing the county’s total to 3,826. Recoveries increased by 199 to 3,135, thus dropping the active case count to 644, including 24 positive patients hospitalized.
Another death raised the total to 15 in Chariton County. The total of positive cases increased by five to 559. However, with 27 recoveries, bringing that total to 504, the active case count dipped to 40.
Since last reported on December 10, the total number of positive cases in Cooper County jumped by 90 to 1,479. Due to 1,242 recoveries and eight deaths, there are 81 active cases in the county.
According to the Saline County Dashboard, 14 more positive cases of the virus were added, pushing the total past the 2,000 mark to 2,012. But with 1,877 recoveries confirmed and 40 deaths, the active case count dropped below triple digits to 95.
Updates were not available from Carroll, Howard and Lafayette Counties.
