A Sedalia man is facing a couple of felonies involving a juvenile.
On August 13, 2020, the father of a juvenile female reported to authorities that his brother, 37-year-old Joshua E. Breshears inappropriately touched his, now 14-year-old, daughter. According to the report the abuse occurred on or about March 3, 2012, on more than one occasion.
The juvenile explained the incidents in detail to a Child Safe Investigator on September 1, 2020. The girl told the investigator that her uncle put her back part on his private and moved her back and forth. The victim came forward after other family members reported similar allegations.
On September 3, 2020 Breshears denied the allegations to officers during a voluntary interview. Breshears did admit to living at both residences that the abuse allegedly took place.
According to court documents, Breshears is charged with two counts of a Class B Felony for Child Molestation in the First Degree. Bond has been set at $100,000 cash or surety.
Breshears’ initial appearance is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
