
One of three men accused of multiple felonies, including kidnapping, more than 2-1/2 years ago is scheduled to have a court proceeding on Monday, January 4.
According to a probable-cause statement, on April 26, 2018, authorities arrived at the scene of the reported kidnapping at the Super 8 Motel in Higginsville and arrested the three men, who allegedly held two females against their will; raped and assaulted them; and demanded ransom money.
Jaciel Acdala Mendez-Morales, who is now 21 years old, 25-year-old Alain Gaspar Camarillo-Linan and 24-year-old Luis Angel Sierra-Vallina have been charged. Mendez-Morales and Sierra-Vallina are being held on $500,000 and Camarillo-Linan on $750,000 cash-only bond at the Lafayette County Jail.
Each defendant pleaded not guilty on April 30, 2018.
A case review for Sierra-Vallina is scheduled to be held at 3 p.m. at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
A pre-trial conference for Mendez-Morales and Camarillo-Linan is scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
