
One more COVID-19-related death and more than four dozen new positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in Saline County over the last few days.
According to health-department officials, the death of a 72-year-old female raises the county’s total to 45 since the beginning of the pandemic. Thirty-eight new positive cases were added from January 1 through January 3 and 19 more on January 4, increasing the county’s total to 2,282. There also were 36 recoveries over the same time frame.
On Monday, January 4, health-department officials in Chariton County say 15 new positive cases were added, upping its total to 692. There were five recoveries, raising that total to 595. With 15 COVID-19-related deaths and 595 recoveries, that leaves 82 active cases.
Twelve new positive cases were reported in Howard County, increasing the county’s total to 935. With 844 recoveries and four deaths, there are 87 active cases, including two positive patients hospitalized.
Updates were not available from Carroll, Cooper, Lafayette and Pettis Counties.
