A 34-year-old Mayview man is facing multiple felony charges following an incident last year in Lafayette County.
A Lafayette County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a call in reference to a physical disturbance in progress on October 22, 2020. While the deputy was en route, dispatch advised that a female juvenile caller was stating that Anthony T. Miller was hitting her mom and was using a tire iron to break out the windshield of the woman’s vehicle.
When the deputy arrived, Miller refused to talk to the deputy. The deputy attempted to place Miller under arrest, he allegedly resisted and attempted to escape custody.
Miller is charged with two (2) counts of a Class D Felony for Endangering the Welfare of a Child; two (2) count of a Class E Felony for Domestic Assault in the Third Degree; four (4) counts of a Class E Felony for Domestic Assault in the Fourth Degree; a Class E Felony for Escape or Attempted Escape from Custody while Under Arrest for a Felony; and a property damage misdemeanor. Miller posted $50,000 bond on December 31, 2020.
During a hearing on January 13, Miller’s attorney was allowed to withdraw from the case. His case was bound over to the Trial Division of the Circuit Court. His next court proceeding is scheduled for 11 a.m. on February 16, 2021.
