Crews from Marshall Municipal Services were aiming to get all of the limbs and debris strewn around by the New Year’s weekend ice storms picked up this week.

According to City Administrator David Haugland, the crews were not able to get through the entire town this week. So, he says for residents just to leave the limbs and brush curbside, and crews will continue to pick them up next week (January 18-23).

Also, during a recent meeting of the Marshall City Council, Ward 4 Councilman Tom Hagedorn informed the council he will not run for another term. Hagedorn has served 12 years on the council.

Haugland said, as of Friday morning, nobody had filed to run for the seat. So, if you live in Ward 4 and want to run for the council seat, filing is being accepted during regular business hours at the Marshall City Office Building at 214 North Lafayette Avenue until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19. Haugland says the office will be closed on Monday, January 18, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
