
During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, February 4, commissioners opened several bids from health-insurance providers.
At the meeting on Thursday, February 11, Human Resources Manager Michelle Hinnah announced the county’s decision.
Commissioners were asked about what the overall cost to the county will be. Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden said it’s not as much of a spike with this company as it would have been if the county would have stayed with its current provider.
Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. said the county has increased its contribution from $405 to $450 per employee.
Assessor Jessica Adcock Goodman said by doing that, it will affect her office’s budget.
Commissioners approved the health insurance bid from Group Insurance Services with plans from United Healthcare.
In addition, commissioners announced they approved all of the other bids for products and services that were presented during the February 4 meeting.
In other news, Clerk Debbie Russell said absentee voting for the upcoming Municipal Election begins on Tuesday, February 23. The Municipal Election is set for Tuesday, April 6.
