
A 45-year-old Colorado man has been charged with felonies after a traffic stop was conducted on I-70 in Lafayette County on February 9.
According to a report from a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper, the driver was wanted on multiple warrants in Missouri and was driving a vehicle that was reported stolen from Albuquerque, New Mexico, on January 26. In addition, the trooper says he located a cigarette package in the driver’s coat that contained a pill bottle that contained some heroin and a syringe loaded with suspected heroin; as well as drug paraphernalia.
Court documents say Roy Lee Gibson II, of Estes Park, is charged with Class D Felonies for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and Possession of a Controlled Substance; and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond is set at $50,000 cash only.
Gibson was arraigned and entered a plea of not guilty on February 10. His next hearing is scheduled to be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
