A 28-year-old Sedalia woman is facing multiple felony charges after she allegedly left her toddler son alone in a residence for an extended period of time.

The 3-year-old boy was found unattended when a maintenance worker went to the residence on May 20 to repair a door.

An investigation led authorities to find out the child’s mother, Tamalon Lynn Wallace had been in jail in Kansas and was released from custody on May 21. During an interview with authorities on November 19, Wallace told authorities that she had been taking medication that caused her to lose track of time.

Wallace is charged with a Class B Felony for Abandonment of a Child; and Class D Felonies for Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the First Degree and Abuse or Neglect-No Sexual Contact. Bond is set at $50,000 cash or surety.

Wallace waived formal arraignment on December 21. Wallace’s case has been continued and her next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m., Monday, March 15 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
