During a recent meeting of the Marshall City Council meeting, Ward 3 Councilman Dan Brandt reported there is an event scheduled for residents to discard bigger unwanted items rather than on their regular trash day set for this weekend.

The hours for the event will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. rain or shine.

Brandt said several items will be accepted, but others will not.

Brandt also says grass and brush also will be accepted that day at the compost area until 4 p.m.
