A 65-year-old Sedalia man had to be flown from the scene of a two-vehicle crash in Pettis County on Sunday, April 11.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a westbound Yamaha Bear Tracker, driven by Gary Brandes, was following a westbound Coleman Go Kart, driven by 30-year-old Joshua Brandes, of Sedalia. The Go Kart became disabled in the roadway and was rear-ended by the ATV, which overturned and ejected the driver and a passenger.

Gary Brandes was flown by Life Flight Eagle helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries. Joshua Brandes and a 6-year-old boy were treated for minor injuries at the scene. Nobody was wearing a safety device.

The crash happened at 3:17 p.m. on Springfork Road, east of Road and Gun Club Road.
