A 21-year-old Foristell man has been charged with a couple of felonies relating to an alleged high-speed pursuit in Saline County on Friday, May 21.
According to a Saline County Sheriff’s Department report, deputies responded to assist the Missouri State Highway Patrol regarding a motor vehicle pursuit.
Troopers reported the fleeing vehicle had avoided tire-deflation devices by driving off the roadway, nearly hitting a Trooper at one point. The driver eventually stopped his vehicle and was taken into custody by a deputy at the intersection of South O’Dell Avenue and East Yerby Street.
According to court documents, Caleb Berkaw is charged with a Class B Felony for Assault in the Second Degree- Special Victim; and a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest, Stop or Detention by Fleeing. Bond is set at $25,000 cash only.
Berkaw was scheduled for a hearing on Monday, May 24. His next hearing is pending at Saline County Circuit Court.
