
A one week jury trial is scheduled in the case of 34-year-old Pleasant Hill man who allegedly sexually assaulted a teenager in Odessa last June.
According to a probable-cause statement, on June 28, the mother of a 13-year-old girl alleged to authorities that Kyle Lee Halford sexually assaulted her daughter when Halford lived at the mother’s residence. The sexual assaults had allegedly been going on for “two years.” When the girl’s mother confronted Halford regarding the accusations, Halford denied them and then left the apartment.
Halford waived formal arraignment and pleaded not guilty on September 8 to multiple sex-related felonies, including two counts of a Class B Felony for Child Molestation in the Second Degree with a Child Less Than 12 Years Old; three counts of a Class C Felony for Child Molestation in the Third Degree with a Child Less Than 14 Years Old; two counts of an Unclassified Felony for Statutory Rape or Attempted Statutory Rape in the First Degree of a Person Less Than 14 Years Old; and four counts of an Unclassified Felony for Statutory Sodomy or Attempted Statutory Sodomy- Deviate Sexual Intercourse- with a Person Less Than 14 Years Old. Bond is set at $500,000.00 cash or surety.
Pre-trial conference is this case is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Lafayette County Circuit Court. A one-week jury trial is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2022.
This case will be transferred to Clay County after Pretrial Conference.
