For over fifty years, former Pennytown residents and their descendants have gathered on the first Sunday of August to share food, worship, celebrate, and remember. This annual gathering includes a non-denominational worship service at the historic Pennytown Freewill Baptist Church at 11:00 am, followed by lunch and a guest speaker at the Martin Community Center in Marshall, Mo. (Everyone welcome — $8 donation for lunch)
Special Guest and Speaker: Mr. Ray Hill — Retired middle school social studies and English teacher and current researcher of Black hamlets in the Midwest.
All are welcome!
