West-central Missouri recently went through a stretch of several days where the heat index reached triple digits, and that likely will happen again before the summer ends.

In addition to giving the monthly report from the Marshall Fire Department, Ward 1 Councilman Dewey Hendrix offered several helpful tips from the fire department for area residents to combat the heat during the council meeting on Monday, August 2.

Ward 3 Councilman Dan Brandt offered the “Stormwater Tip of the Month.”

Later in the meeting, the council approved a bid for $44,000-plus for crack-sealing on several city streets.
