Marshall Municipal Utilities IT & Broadband Director Jim Widel motioned to accept bids for a cable plow from Vermeer Great Plains of Olathe, Kansas during the meeting of the MMU Board of Public Works on Thursday, August 12.

Widel says two options of bids were solicited for a new cable plow on Wednesday, August 3.

Vermeer opened bids at $143,500 with an option of a standard Backfilled Blade or an Enclosed Cab for an additional $30,537.

Widel explained the Vermeer cab option extends the lead time, however, the IT & Broadband department felt it would be worth the cost and delay time.

The MMU Board of Public Works approved the action to accept the bid for a total of $147,037.
