The Marshall City Council was asked to set a public hearing date regarding a rezoning request during its meeting on Monday, August 16.

City Inspector and Code Official Mike Morgan said a 15-day notice has to be given to the citizens about a possible public hearing about the request in the 1300 block of West Vest Street.

The request was explained by Charles Eades, who owns the white building that used to be part of Marshall Lodge but does not include the hotel.

Eades said he’s also wanting to purchase a lot from the city to build a new home- he says, “again increasing the tax base and sales-tax dollars.”

The council approved the recommendation, and will hold a public hearing regarding the request during its next meeting on Tuesday, September 7.
