Johnson County is scheduled to host a Household Hazard Waste collection day from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, August 20.

Officials say Johnson County residents may bring their hazard waste to a collection site at 326 East North Street in Warrensburg.

The Household Hazard Waste Facility will accept most chemical items, such as: aerosols, batteries, used oil, gasoline, antifreeze, pesticides, herbicides, garden chemicals, household cleaners, florescent bulbs and small electronic waste.

Explosives, ammunition, latex paints, asbestos, smoke alarms, radioactive wastes, unlabeled items, medical wastes, tires and small household appliances will not be accepted.

Business and non-profit waste are not eligible to be collected at the HHW collection site.
