
During her report at the meeting of the Marshall School Board on Tuesday, August 24, Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher proposed the board approve her request to increase pay for substitute teachers.
Dr. Maher said she contacted several area districts, and most have increased pay for subs this year.
Dr. Maher explained there is a critical need for substitute teachers.
In the end, the board voted to increase the pay for regular substitute teachers from $85 to $115 and from $100 to $125 per day for longterm substitute teachers. These rates will be retroactive to the first day of school.
