A 33-year-old inmate at an area jail has been charged with a felony.

According to a probable-cause statement, on June 2, the mail room at the Boonville Correctional Center received a manila envelope that was addressed to Ryan Huskey. When the mail-room attendant opened the envelope, she found two orange strips that had “A8” printed on them underneath the flap, and under the flap tested positive for suboxone.

Monitoring phone calls from Huskey, authorities heard him and a civilian discuss the description of the exact envelope.

Court documents say Huskey is charged with a felony for possession of a controlled substance at a jail facility. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

Huskey is scheduled to be arraigned at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 10, at Cooper County Circuit Court.
