Two Rocheport residents are charged with felonies after they received a visit from Howard County deputies and personnel from the Division of Social Services on Monday, August 30.

According to a probable-cause statement, a hotline phone call was received, and during a walk-through of the home, authorities say they located several large knives within reach of three juveniles- ages 16, 10 and 4- as well as several drug-related items, including methamphetamine and smoking pipes. Jeremy James and Cassandra Elaine Cudney were arrested.

According to court documents, each subject is charged with three counts of a felony for endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree involving drugs, a felony for possession of a controlled substance and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond for each defendant is set at $10,000, with 10-percent authorized.

An initial hearing for each of the accused is pending at Howard County Circuit Court.
