The Saline County Commission gave an update on the current situation with ARPA funding, as well as the water and sewer project at Marshall Junction during its meeting on Thursday, September 2.
It was reported during a previous meeting that the waterline is now complete.
Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner said the water tower is in the process of being filled.
The commission has not decided on the particular type of sewer system. County Engineer Rich Rhodes of Rhodes Engineering presented three options at a meeting several months ago. The next step was for commissioners to visit other systems in this area. Commissioners were asked if that has happened?
Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. answered.
This is all part of a multi-million dollar project to try to attract businesses to Marshall Junction as part of the economic-development plan for the county. County voters passed a half-cent sales tax for economic development in April 2018.
