Marshall firefighters were toned out to a report of a structure fire on Tuesday, September 7.
According to a fire department spokesperson, the alarm sounded at 7:39 p.m., and firemen were on the scene in the 200 block of South Davis Avenue two minutes later.
The detached garage was fully involved upon firefighters’ arrival. Seven fire department personnel were on the scene to extinguish the blaze. They had the fire under control in a short time, and cleared the scene 9:20 p.m.
It was determined the fire started due to embers being blown from a brush fire started by the property owner. The spokesperson said the brush fire was a good distance from the garage, but the wind picked up, leading to the garage catching fire.
The spokesperson said the garage can be repaired.
No injuries were reported from the scene.
