Ten more positive cases of COVID-19 were added to Lafayette County’s total on Friday, October 8.

According to the Lafayette County Health Department, the overall total is now 3,548 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There currently are 59 active cases- up six from the day before. Five persons are hospitalized due to the virus- the same as the day before.

The county’s positivity rate as of October 4 is 5.99 percent, per the CDC COVID Data Tracker

As of earlier this week, the county’s fully-vaccinated rate is 40.3 percent, and 45.1 percent of its residents have received at least one dose.

If you haven’t been vaccinated and would like to be, health department officials say you can visit their office on Mondays or Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. for walk-in vaccination services.
