A Sedalia man on parole for burglary and charged with another felony for allegedly burglarizing a Pettis County residence in July is due in court.
According to a Pettis County deputy’s report, he responded to somebody reportedly burglarizing a residence on Harding Road, and the resident said items taken included two firearms and a jewelry box. A suspect was identified after he brought in items to a jewelry store on July 12. He was identified as Joseph Matthew Edwards and was traced by using the tags on the car he was driving.
Court documents say Edwards is charged with a felony for first-degree burglary. Bond remains at $25,000 cash or surety. A motion for bond reduction was denied by the court.
Edwards was indicted by a Grand Jury on September 8. His case was bound over to the trial division, and he is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 18, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
