The Missouri Department of Transportation has closed the center section of the Missouri River Bridge, along Highway 5 and 40, in Boonville for repairs this week.
According to a press release, there are 11-foot lanes going both north and south for regular traffic. However, the bridge is closed for large machinery and wide loads.
MoDOT and its contractor are scheduled to have the center section completed this week – weather permitting and with no unforeseen delays.
Officials say once this part of the repairs is completed, the west side of the bridge will be closed and two-way traffic will use the east side of the bridge.
Individuals moving wide loads or large machinery across the bridge will need to contact Boonville Police Department at (660) 882-2727, so authorities can close the bridge to traffic while the machinery is moved safely across the bridge.
