Sedalia firefighters were toned out to a report of an attic fire this afternoon.

According to a fire department spokesperson, the alarm sounded at approximately 3 p.m., and firefighters were on the scene in the 600 block of East 10th Street a few minutes later.

The firefighters were able to contain the blaze down to a small area of the house, and left the scene with no report injuries. Damages are estimated at $10,000 to $15,000 in repairs.

The spokesperson reminds renters to consider getting renters insurance, in case of unexpected events, such as fires.
