During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, October 28, commissioners considered approval of a resolution regarding the Saline County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.

Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner read the proposed resolution.

Fenner explained the commission has to approve an updated plan every two years. He said if the commission doesn’t approve the plan, then the county cannot file with SEMA or FEMA for any funds in the event of a disaster.

Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. noted Saline County Emergency Agency Director Tony Day has the plan.

Commissioners voted to adopt the resolution.
