A couple of changes in state statutes has prompted the city of Marshall to consider changes to a couple of its ordinances.

At the meeting of the city council on Monday, November 1, City Attorney Josh Taylor explained the first is involving amending qualifications for members of Marshall’s Board of Public Works.

Taylor said the second is regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages.

The council approved the first reading of each proposed ordinance. A second reading will need to be approved before they go into effect.
