
More than two dozen students and staff were in quarantine at the beginning of this week due to COVID-19 protocol in the Odessa R-7 School District.
According to school district officials, there were 12 total active COVID-19 cases and 30 students and staff in quarantine as of Monday, November 1.
There has been a total of 65 positive COVID-19 cases in the district since the beginning of the school year. They break down as: 21 at OMS; 17 at OHS; 16 at OUE; and 11 at CCC McQ.
District officials say, “When we receive notification of a positive case, the district staff performs a contract trace. If it is determined a student has been in close contact with a positive case, a parent or guardian will be notified.”
