
As of Monday, November 8, more than 50 students and staff were in quarantine due to COVID-19 protocol in the Odessa R-7 School District.
According to school district officials, there were 18 total active COVID-19 cases and 56 students and staff in quarantine.
There has been a total of 81 positive COVID-19 cases in the district since the beginning of the school year. They break down as: 25 at OMS; 25 at OHS; 18 at OUE; and 13 at CCC McQ.
District officials say, “When we receive notification of a positive case, the district staff performs a contract trace. If it is determined a student has been in close contact with a positive case, a parent or guardian will be notified.”
