
The number of students and staff in quarantine is nearly 70 due to COVID-19 protocol in the Odessa R-7 School District, as of Monday, November 15.
According to school district officials, there were 27 total current active COVID-19 cases- up from 18- and 68 students and staff in quarantine- up from 56 during the previous report.
There has been a total of 105 positive COVID-19 cases in the district since the beginning of the school year- an increase of 24 from the previous week. They break down as: 30 at OMS; 37 at OHS; 22 at OUE; and 16 at CCC McQ.
District officials say, “When we receive notification of a positive case, the district staff performs a contact trace. If it is determined a student has been in close contact with a positive case, a parent or guardian will be notified.”
