
An area city will be without power for a short-time period beginning Tuesday, November 23.
According to the Lafayette Emergency Management Agency, Evergy has informed City Hall the entire city of Lexington is scheduled to be without power from 11 p.m. until 3 a.m.
City officials say due to a malfunctioning transformer at a substation, Evergy was prompted to make this decision.
Evergy has informed the local hospital and other health care organizations, along with making robocalls to customers. Lexington’s Water and Sewer Department are preparing for the outage.
