During the Slater City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 7, Mayor Dr. Stephen Allegri notified the public and council of approaching events and deadlines.

Mayor Allegri and Assistant City Administrator Gene Griffith announced a public hearing, regarding the city’s budget, is scheduled to begin prior to the council’s next meeting at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, December 21.

Following the announcement, Allegri says Santa Claus is scheduled to make an appearance at Slater Nutrition from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, December 18. Allegri also noted candidate filings for the 2022 General Municipal Election have opened and will run through 5 p.m. December 28.

In other news, Griffith said the replacement of three air valves were scheduled to be conducted on Thursday, December 9. The parts were ordered in July 2021.
