At the most-recent Sedalia School District 200 board meeting, on behalf of the Brendan Eisenmenger Student Impact Fund, the Sedalia School District Foundation presented a total of $6,300 in disbursements to school administrators to assist with holiday, food and basic needs of their individual building’s students.
A press release says the fund was established in memory of former Sedalia Middle School Principal Brendan Eisenmenger.
Through memorials donated in Eisenmenger’s name, the fund is used to directly impact and enrich the individual and collective lives of Sedalia School District 200 students by identifying and funding specific needs and educational opportunities to nurture continual student growth and success. These can range from educational, basic food and safety needs to gifts needed at Christmas time.
Funding requests are submitted by building principals with specific students and needs in mind, and the Sedalia School District Foundation helps distribute the funds.
Eisenmenger was a Smith-Cotton graduate and began his teaching career in Sedalia, starting in 2006 when he was a science teacher at Sedalia Middle School and Smith-Cotton Junior High. He later became the assistant principal at Sedalia Middle School. He was named principal of Heber Hunt Elementary in 2014 and eventually returned to Sedalia Middle School as principal in 2018. Eisenmenger died in November 2019.
