
A 34-year-old Sedalia man charged with felonies for allegedly assaulting a woman and threatening to cut her while holding a knife on November 1 has a court proceeding scheduled.
A Sedalia Police report says officers responded to a residence in reference to a physical disturbance. A woman told authorities Richard Curd grabbed a small knife from the kitchen and put it to her throat and said he could cut her. She said Curd then grabbed her left arm, pinned her against the wall, grabbed her throat and choked her. The woman’s 6-year-old daughter told authorities she saw Curd with a knife.
Curd told authorities the argument was verbal and not physical and denied grabbing a knife.
According to court documents, Curd is charged with felonies for assault in the third degree and unlawful use of a weapon- exhibiting. Curd posted $10,000 surety bond on November 3.
Curd is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
