
The Marshall-Saline Development Corporation board met in regular session on Tuesday, December 14, to discuss its current projects along with future plans for economic development.
During Executive Director Cydney Mayfield’s report, she said she compiled goals for the organization’s annual plan. The annual plan consist of MSDC’s priority projects for 2022.
Board member and Saline County Commissioner Monte Fenner said MSDC is scheduled to receive its approved ARPA funds by the end of the week.
Other priority projects for MSDC include developing strong relationships with area cities in Saline County; finding grant opportunities; creating a strategic plan to develop Marshall Junction to its full potential; updating the list of lots, land and buildings available in the county; and looking into the possibility of an Industrial Park and/or getting site certifications for city owned property.

Mayfield also said MSDC is scheduled to kick off the new year with a women’s networking event, targeting current and aspiring women entrepreneurs.
The Women Who Mean Business networking event is scheduled to take place at Chemistry Coffee beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, January 12.
In other news, Mayfield says MSDC’s Annual Plan and the 2022 proposed budget is scheduled to be an action item at its next regular meeting on Tuesday, January 11.
