
There are currently 82 positive COVID-19 cases in Lafayette County – increasing the county’s total to 4,042 confirmed cases since the beginning on the pandemic.
According to the Lafayette County Health Department, there are 19 persons currently hospitalized and the total COVID-19 related deaths remain at 78. The county’s positivity rate is 19.94 percent, per the CDC COVID Data Tracker.
Officials say since its last weekly report on December 13, Lexington had the highest numbers of reported cases at 29, followed by Odessa with 14. Higginsville and Waverly come in third with six cases each. Concordia and Dover each had five positive cases. Corder had four, while Wellington reported three positive cases. Alma reported two. Mayview and Napoleon each had one case.
These numbers do not include positive rapid antigen results, as they are not considered diagnostic by the CDC.
