Firefighters from multiple stations reported to battle a blaze in Johnson County on Monday, December 20.

According to the Johnson County Fire Protection District, Stations 1, 6, 10 and the duty crew responded to a structure fire north of Warrensburg. The fire damaged the structure and some of the contents. The origin of the fire was determined to be an unattended burn barrel outside of the building.

Fire district officials say, “It is so dry out right now (that) it takes very little for a controlled burn to spread. Please don’t burn until conditions improve.”
