The State Fair Community College Foundation has announced the appointment of Sam Ditzfeld to its board of directors. The board currently has 20 members.
According to a news release, Ditzfeld, a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, is vice president of Ditzfeld Transfer, Inc. located in Sedalia, one of the Midwest’s transportation, warehouse and distribution service providers.
Officials say in accepting the position, Ditzfeld said his desire to serve on the foundation’s board is to keep the legacy of his late father, Ron Ditzfeld, alive. His father was involved in the community and also served on the foundation’s board of directors for a number of years. Ditzfeld will serve a three-year term.
Mary Treuner, foundation executive director says, “I am so pleased and proud to welcome Sam to the foundation. We know that Sam, like his father, has a passion for community involvement and helping all sorts of organizations to be successful. We look forward to seeing Sam leave his own mark on the great things SFCC is doing to provide opportunities for our students and to help our community grow and prosper.”
Current officers are Joe Fischer, president; Steve Ellebracht, vice president; Lori Swearingen, secretary; and Alaina Gump, treasurer.
