
Firefighters from several departments battled a blaze in Lafayette County on Thursday, December 23.
According to Lexington Fire and Rescue officials, the old Dairy Queen building suffered a major fire.
Heavy fire was encountered upon arrival. An open attic design helped spread the fire quickly. There were cars burning in the add-on garage, as well.
Firefighters were still on scene into evening hours, and then conducted an investigation.
Lexington Fire and Rescue had assistance from Wellington, Mayview, Higginsville and Richmond Fire Departments. Concordia covered EMS from the Lexington station.
No injuries were reported from the scene.
