The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an application filed by Evergy Metro, Inc. d/b/a Evergy Missouri Metro which authorizes the sale of certain Evergy Missouri Metro assets (transformers and associated equipment) located in Carroll County to Show Me Ethanol, LLC – Show Me Ethanol, LLC is a customer of Evergy Missouri Metro.

According to a news release, Evergy Missouri Metro sought to sell the assets so customers could qualify to be served under the Company’s primary voltage customer rate.

Officials say the application stated the transfer of ownership is a main driver for the customer to add a CO2 capturing facility to its ethanol plant.

The Commission says, “[We have] reviewed Evergy Missouri Metro’s application and Staff’s recommendation. Based upon those pleadings, [we find] the proposed transaction is not detrimental to the interests of Evergy Missouri Metro, Show Me Ethanol or Evergy Missouri Metro’s other ratepayers [and will be approved].”

Evergy Missouri Metro serves approximately 292,700 electric customers in Missouri, including Carroll, Chariton, Howard, Johnson, Lafayette, Pettis, and Saline counties in the KMMO listening area.
