With the new year comes new goals, and the Slater City Council discussed the importance of goal setting during its meeting on Tuesday, January 18.

Mayor Dr. Stephen Allegri says the council discusses its goals annually.

During the meeting, Assistant City Administrator Gene Griffith announced Steve McQueens Day is scheduled to be held Saturday, June 18, the day before Father’s Day.

In other news, Mayor Allegri commended the city crews for their work following the snow storm on January 14-15.

The council did not have any old nor new business to be discussed and adjourned to executive session.
