Bond has been reduced twice for a 56-year-old Atlanta, Georgia, man charged with drug- and weapons-related felonies following a traffic stop on I-70 in Lafayette County on December 9.

A report from a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper says he allegedly located three quart-sized baggies containing controlled pills with fentanyl; a brick-shaped item that appeared to be in the shape of a “kilo,” which was wrapped in tape and contained a white substance inside; and a handgun, which was reported stolen from Atlanta.

Samuel Lee Hines is charged with felonies for trafficking drugs in the first degree; unlawful possession of a firearm; and stealing a firearm. Bond started at $334,000, but was reduced to $250,000 cash or surety on December 22. Bond was reduced again to $100,000 cash or surety on February 7, and Hines posted surety bond on February 14.

Hines pleaded not guilty on December 13. His next hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
