
A case-review hearing for a Marshall man who pleaded guilty to in a lesser sex-related case is scheduled to be held this week.
According to a probable-cause statement, the juvenile’s mother contacted the Marshall Police Department after going through explicit text messages on her daughter’s phone in July 2018. In June 2019, court documents say Castillo-Mejia pleaded guilty to a Class A Misdemeanor for Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree.
Court documents say Castillo-Mejia’s was sentenced to 12 months jail, however, execution of sentence was suspended and defendant was placed on supervised probation and parole for two years.
Due to a probation-violation filing in April 2021, Castillo-Mejia’s is scheduled to be appear for a case-review hearing at 10 a.m. Monday, February 28 in Saline County Circuit Court.
