At this week’s Warrensburg City Council meeting, members of the Warrensburg Fire and Police Departments were recognized for their effort in saving the life of a woman on December 31, 2021.

According to city officials, a citizen went into cardiac arrest while shopping at Wal-Mart. Sgt. Cody Johnson was already at Wal-Mart taking a report on an unrelated incident. Sgt. Johnson provided CPR for nearly six minutes before additional help arrived. Firefighter Specialist Weston Farmer and Firefighters Jeremy Crist and Logan Warren arrived and assisted in resuscitation until the patient was transported to the hospital and survived.
