On Wednesday, March 2, a Saline County jury found Chad Thomas, of Holden, guilty of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance and a Class D Misdemeanor for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia following a one-day jury trial.

According to Lafayette County Prosecuting Attorney Kristen Hillbrenner, she litigated the trial that took place in Saline County, due to the defendant requesting a change of venue.

Witnesses from the Higginsville Police Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory testified for the State.

The jury deliberated for less than 15 minutes before finding Thomas guilty.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 4, 2022.
