On  Thursday March 24, the Saline County Career Center’s DECA chapter received a donation from the Malta Bend Memorial American Legion Post #558. A donation of $2,000 that will support and sustain the chapter’s current funding.

According to a news release, each year SCCC DECA works with local initiatives and charities to develop marketing, publicity and advertising plans or general community giving/awareness projects. This year some of the businesses and organizations the DECA chapter has worked to support include the Children’s Mercy Hospital, a local bookstore, a bakery and a Jim the Wonder Dog event. Additional projects that members worked on were a startup business plan, community awareness projects, integrated marketing plans and many more.
