
Everett H. Morgan III, age 81, of Corder, died Friday, April 8, 2022, at the Meyer Care Center.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Kaiser-Wiegers Funeral Home in Higginsville is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to Boy Scout Troop 415.

He was born March 31, 1941 in Corder to Everett and Dorothy (Blake) Morgan, Jr.
He graduated from Corder High School, Central Missouri State University, and Missouri State Highway Patrol Recruit Training. He served in the Army National Guard from 1963-1969. He married Carol Semler on July 18, 1969. They later divorced.
Everett started a long career in law enforcement as a Sheriff’s deputy. After his graduation from Patrol Training, he started what would become a 35 year career with the Missouri Highway Patrol. He served in Troop A, in Zone’s 1, 4, 7, 8 and 9 and was part of the Rural Missouri Major Case Squad. He earned the rank of Corporal, retiring on April 1, 2001. His civic commitments continued as he worked for the Corder Police Department, again for the Sheriff’s Department, and for the City of Corder as assistant business manager.
Everett was very social. He enjoyed his involvement in the Moose and Elks Lodge’s in Lexington, Lexington Turner Society, Warrensburg American Legion, Ponderosa Club. He also enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and the Lake of the Ozarks.
He is survived by: Son: Derrick & Heidi Morgan of Higginsville; Daughters: Shelli & Alan Weitkamp of Lexington, Brenda & David Cox Sr. of Warrensburg; Brother: Bruce Morgan of Roeland Park, KS; and
